MEMENOPOLY Public Beta (v1)
We are excited to announce that we are officially up and running on BSC testnet!
We’ve spent the last few days hammering away and we feel we are ready to open up the first round of our public beta! If you’re interested in helping us test or just want to check it out, all you will need is a BSC test address and some testnet BSC
Here is a good article on adding testnet to your metamask to get you going if you haven’t set up testnet before.
And if you need some funds you can grab testnet BSC on the BSC test faucet page
This is still a very early beta, currently we have only tested in chrome on desktop and mobile metamask on IOS (which is buggy but works), we would love to hear your experiences on other devices/browsers.
Time to begin!
Once you’ve got that all setup, you’re good to go and ready to start playing some Memenopoly!
Distribution
The first thing you will want to do is get some NFTs and $MNOP Tokens so you can get in the game!
Head over to the NFT Store and chose from one of the Distro packs listed in at the top! These packs will give you some random NFTs to stake and will mint you the amount of $MNOP listed. We tried to make these cheap for testing, so 1 test BNB should go a long way!
Staking
Once you’ve redeemed your packs, you will want to head on over to the My NFTs section, here you will be able to see what cards you pulled from the packs. We’re going to make the pack reveal much more exciting in an upcoming release, but for now, this is where you will see what properties and players you pulled from your packs!
You can stake your NFTs from here, all NFTs give you daily rewards while staked. For now, there are only two types of NFTs
- Properties: If these are staked and you have rolled in the last 24 hours, you will get a share of the rent sent to be claimed every time someone pays rent to your property.
- Players: Stake player NFTs and you will have a new player option to choose from in the game settings, letting you play as your NFT!
Let the games begin!
Now it’s time to select your player and take your first roll! Load up the game by clicking the Play item in the main menu. You are now well on your way to the moon!
Choose a Player
If you want to change your player model, click the Game Settings on the bottom right and choose a player from the list. If you were lucky enough to pull any player NFTs in your packs this is where you select them after you have them staked.
Let’s Roll!
Click on the roll button in the bottom right to start your turn!
The first step to the roll is to approve the transaction, once your transaction is approved we send a request to the Chainlink Oracle and your roll begins!
Your Roll timer will start and you will see the HUD update to say “Roll in progress” and there should be some nifty dice floating around your world now too!
As soon as Chainlink returns a random number for the roll, your player will move to the new space and the roll completes!
Depending on the type of space you land on, you might have to pay rent or claim a reward, you will need to approve the contract first to pay rent. If you have rewards to claim you can either claim them while you wait for the next roll, or if you’re in no rush your rewards are auto-claimed the next time you roll.
Some Notes
This is still early so there are plenty of little bugs and quirks still to work out.
- We may periodically reset the contracts during testing, bu we’ll try to warn everyone.
- The Roll countdown timer is a little funky, we’re working on sorting this out, the gist is the blockchain isn’t a clock and the roll timer is locked by the block timestamp.
- Mobile metamask likes to randomly load a blank page in some of our testing
- UI is mostly temporary, especially the mobile UI, the goal for this round was to make it functional and easy to use.
- Performance will be a huge focus of upcoming releases, for now we care most about seeing the concept in action so we can fine tune the tokenomics and game play, but let us know if you have any major issues!
